Day 170 7:51 AM my time

i decided it was about time to get that ugly picture off the first entry in my journal lol

ick !!  why did you guys let me put that up there?  i can only claim insanity caused by 3 days in the hospital hehe

i'm at about 95% recovered .. i'm still on mostly a liquid diet but had my first scrambled eggs for dinner last night .. i'm craving something crunchy so i'm hoping my esophagus will heal completely quickly .. i want crunchy food !!!  the liquid vicodin helps me eat and drink until i'm completely recovered .. unfortunately, the vicodin also makes my skin itch .. i can't tell if i'm getting sunburned from that radiation and it itches or if its from the reaction to the vicodin

my oncologist let me skip chemo yesterday .. he said i'd had a hard enough week and deserved a break .. so i came home, did a little bit of work for the office and then actually slept .. my first honest to goodness "nap" in months .. i don't know if my doc is going to have me make up the missed chemo at the end .. i'm really hoping to be done with all this treatment stuff on January 3rd .. ::keeping my fingers crossed::

while i was digging through our old family pictures looking for the picture of my lil sis Nancy, i ran across a couple of pictures of me with my Grandpa Joe .. i miss him a lot :)

Looks like he was a special person in your life.  Glad ti hear you are feeling better.  The itching could be an allergic reaction to the vicodin,,,it did this to me too.  Have a super day!!!! Barbara

Angel Girl....

Glad to hear you are doing better & you got a break. Lovely pictures. Aren't Grandpas just wonderful. As for the other picture being ugly, the vicodin must be effecting your vision also because it was a lovely picture. Hope you get some more rest. Have a relaxing weekend!

Boy Grandpa Joe was one sharp dresser!  And that pic of you in the hot pants ....whooo  hoooo!    I feel like I haven't said hello here in ages. That's not  a good thing.   You've been through a lot since my last visit. You continue to show that your courage is unlimited! You're a fighter and a winner!

Hey beautiful!  How are you doing?  Love the photo blast from the past.  Always cool and good for a smile!  Sorry I wasn't able to connect with you before I left, couldn't find what we'd discussed (think the mice ate it!).  Will be coming home for a surprise Christmas visit (another quicky!) ... but this time no one knows I'm coming (except you!).  Will pop in and say hi!  Right after I chase a few mice from my house !  Guess I'll have to get a couple kittens to keep the place together while I'm out of town on these long business ventures.  Life on the road is still the same... tiring but lucritivie.  Staying focused on building my straw bale home on a beautiful chunk of land somewhere - that makes the 12/7 a little more bearable.  Hang in there!  Oh.... I agree with your friend..  the hats a little scarey.. you're too young and sexy for that one!  Reminds me of the swim caps from the 50th!  I'll see what I can come up with to replace it!  Love & Aloha, Lynlee

so glad to hear that you're feeling better and healing well.  ask your doctor if you can take benedryl for the itchies.  i often get them when i need to take generic percoset.  there's something in the binding of the generic that i'm allergic too and many people have reported getting the itchies.  it may be the same with the vicodin.  worth a shot.

keep up the good work!!

hugs,
star
